Can Lewis Hamilton Become The New F1 World Champion In Austin?

Not so long ago Lewis Hamilton was 14 points off the pace of F1 championship leader Sebastian Vettel, fast forward four races and he’s not only caught the German driver, he’s overtaken him and built up a 59 point lead at the top of the table!

With just four races remaining and only 100 points left up for grabs, the former kart star is now in pole position to win a historic fourth world championship, and if things go his way he could be crowned F1 world champ as early as next weekend.

Here’s how Lewis can claim the title at next weekend’s US Grand Prix..

By winning the race..

Lewis has won the past three US Grand Prix in a row and should he make it four, he’s in with a great chance of winning his fourth world championship. Win in Austin and he’ll be crowned world champion if Vettel finishes sixth or lower.

By finishing second..

Even if Lewis finishes second he could still become world champion, but he’d probably need a bit of luck on his side. A second place finish for the Mercedes man would mean he’d only claim the title if Seb finished ninth or lower, but as we all know anything can happen in Formula 1.

Can he do it?

Of course he can, but there’s more than just blind optimism to back up our belief. To win the world championship Lewis needs to finish the race 16 points ahead of his title rival, something which he’s already managed three times this season and twice in the past three races. He’s in great form too having won four out of the last five grand prix, and with the title in touching distance we think he’ll take some beating on one of his favourite circuits.

We know it’s a long shot, but we’re convinced he’s going to get the job done at the first opportunity. So from everybody at Karting Nation..

Good luck Lewis!
