Do you and your hens love to live life in the fast lane? Then cocktail making and pampering parties just won’t cut it, what you need is added excitement, added acceleration and oomph. What you need is hen party go karting – the most fun you can have on four wheels!*
*We know tearing round the track’s not your average girlie get together though, so you’ve probably got a few questions, and that’s why you’ll find everything you need to know about hen party go karting right here..
What should we wear?
One of the best things about getting the girls together for a karting party is the fact you won’t need to shell out for a new outfit. Our advice is to forget about style and wear something that’s cool and comfortable. The race suits that you’ll be wearing are notoriously hot and sweaty, so thin layers that can be easily removed are always the best bet. You should probably leave the heels at home too, and instead opt for closed-toe shoes which will give you plenty of pedal control. With a place on the podium up for grabs, you definitely don’t want to leave these things to chance!
Where can we go karting?
There are brilliant karting venues across the country and every track is completely unique, which means you and the girls are in for a serious treat. Forget full throttle straights and sweeping corners though, the most important thing you need to consider is whether you want to race indoors or out. Indoor tracks are sheltered from the worst of the British weather which is obviously a huge plus, whereas outdoor circuits give you the chance to drive like a Formula 1 star – there’s a lot to love about both! Some circuits even contain indoor and outdoor sections, but you can find your nearest track here.
What happens when we arrive?
A hen party karting experience is exciting from the off and once you’ve signed in and had a quick chat with the race marshals it’s straight down to action. You won’t just be let lose on the track though, before climbing into a kart you’ll be kitted up with a race suit, helmet and gloves, and also be given a full safety briefing. We know it sounds boring, but believe us the safety briefing is usually anything but. Not only does it cover the different flags you’ll see during a race, it also includes some expert tips on how to get the best out of your kart.
Do I need a driving license?
Having a driving license might give give you a bit of an advantage over the other girls, but you definitely don’t need to be able to drive to give karting a go. Go karts are completely automatic so all you’ll need to worry about is accelerating, braking and steering – easy! Even if climbing into a kart is your first experience of driving, the team of instructors will put you at ease straight away and after a couple of warm up laps you’ll be tearing round the track like a pro.
How long will our experience last?
The duration of a hen party karting experience depends on the circuit and package you have chosen, but don’t worry there’ll still be plenty of time for anything else you’ve got planned! The most popular hen party karting experiences last between 30-60 minutes, which gives you plenty of time to get glammed up and hit the town after you’ve finished racing. Just remember to allow a bit of extra time between your plans.. we know how difficult rounding up all those hens can be!
Will there be bubbly?
There’s champers up for grabs at most karting circuits, but only for the winning driver – so finishing second really isn’t an option!
